PLANS to develop a neighbourhood plan for Teignmouth are nearing their final stage.
The draft has reached a ‘milestone’ as it heads towards the final version to be submitted for examination.
The revised version goes on show to the public on Tuesday July 5.
This version includes revisions made following comments received from residents after the previous consultation and is accompanied by other supporting documents on various topics.
The plan, and its documents, is being launched with an exhibition at Teignmouth Pavilions, open on Tuesday between 10am and 7.30pm, Wednesday 10am to 5.30pm and Thursday 10am to 7.30pm.
This will then relocate to Bitton House for the rest of the six week consultation period, ending on August 19.
All the documentation will be online as the launch takes place and responses can be made either online, or on paper to Bitton House.
Limited numbers of hard copies of the forms and copies of the documentation will be available.
Chairman of the steering group, Cllr Joan Atkins said she was ‘really excited at long last’ to be able to move towards the next stage of consultation when any amendments can be made before its submission to Teignbridge Council.
She said: ‘I’m thrilled that the end of the Plan creation for examination and “making” is in sight.
‘This has been a marathon, rather than a sprint, with COVID massively derailing the very hard work that the Steering Group has put in, under the guidance of our consultant Stuart Todd.
‘But we hope that this final draft of the Plan will meet with the approval of not just the people of Teignmouth but the wider range of organisation that, for this Regulation 14 consultant exercise, we have to cover. It can then go forward to Teignbridge swiftly for examination.
‘We are on the home run now.’
The previous version of the plan is available online at https://www.teignmouth-devon.gov.uk/Neighbourhood_Plan_18991.aspx although there have been some updates.
