A sustainable fashion took centre stage at Rowcroft Bovey Tracey’s charity fashion show at the Phoenix Hall on Tuesday May 3.

The fashion show, which was in celebration of Rowcroft Hospice’s 40th anniversary, featured models adorning clothes from the Bovey shop with a few personal items sprinkled in for good measure.

Rowcroft Bovey Tracey manager Manuela Tarquini said: ‘A few delays and technical faults aside, it was a great evening – the whole of Bovey came together as a community it was so delightful.

‘It was a team effort and we couldn’t have done it without my amazing volunteers, the Bovey Tracey Activities Trust, the team at Moor and Tor and everybody who turned up to support the event.’

The venue, located along St. Johns Lane in Bovey, was packed to the rafters with all 100 tickets being sold for the fashion show which commenced at 7pm.

With the models walking their final walk to a round of applause, a raffle was drawn and lucky ticket-holders walked away with some much sort after prizes.

A number of vouchers for a tour of Bovey Whiskey Distillery , a gift voucher for the Cheese Shed, a limited edition Jeremy Lynch vase and multiple bottles of tequila were among some of the prizes won.

Cllr Avril Kerswell, who opened the event, said: ‘It was a huge success and a fabulous show.

‘The organisation was very good, the models were wonderful and there were some beautiful clothes on display.

‘Rowcroft is an amazing organisation which we are so lucky to have and whatever we can do to help them secure their future is what we should do.’
